Training Period Underway

The Spring Training Period started as planned on Monday, March 3rd. It started on time according to plan B, that is, which was rapidly formed as the huge storm that swept through a few weeks back died down, prior to the start of the training period. We only missed the first day of the training period due to the storm, which isn't bad considering the aftermath of the post-fire storms last summer. The first sesshin went well, with no further interruptions. The community is now getting into the swing of the new schedule and practice here continues. This is the first full training period since the fire last summer and it feels good to have a number of trainees with us right now. At one point last year it wasn't clear whether we'd be able to continue training at Yokoji, so it is heartening that is training period is off to a strong start.

We just received an order of mortarless wall bricks to build around the backside of the propane tanks, guarding them from any further flooding or debris flow. The work of protecting the Center from any future damage is ongoing and this is one of many new walls which we hope to build in order to protect various buildings around the property. There's always plenty to do, and lots of sitting to be sat, so come join us when you can.
