Happy (Snowy) New Year!

As 2014 fell away at the stroke of midnight and the time keeper for the New Year's Sesshin struck the twelfth bell and let out a jubilent cheer of "Happy New Year!", so began a new year, christened by a blanket of fresh snow and a chilling temperature. The New Year's Sesshin was well attended and by many people both new to Yokoji and new to Zen. Some of them may also have been new to driving in the snow.

A few days later, we still have a light covering on the dirt road. It is not enough to plow and the tractor isn't effective at clearing it once it's icy. We are running the Sunday program tomorrow as usual, but be warned that the road is not easy to pass unless you're either a) in a 4WD or AWD vehicle, b) in a vehicle with chains on the tires, or c) awesome at driving in the snow and ice.

We hope that a few of you will fall into either a,b or c and we'll see you tomorrow on the first Sunday of 2015.

Was a great experience. Definitely a believer in practicing with a teacher and with the sangha. Thank you to all the teachers, and Happy New Year to everyone!
