Fire Update

They are now allowing residents back in to Apple Canyon. A few people have gone ahead to check it, see what the air quality is like etc. We may all be returning today and it is quite possible we will still be holding the Care for your Temple Day. We will post the information as soon as we know.

Unfortunately, although Apple Canyon is now open again, we are a long way from returning home. There are still a lot of fire crews at Yokoji dealing with spot fires. With the change in weather, the fire crews are staying put to protect Yokoji, one of the remaining unburned sections of the canyon.

Care for Your Temple Day is officially canceled, but once we get back in (whenever that may be) we will take all the help we can get in getting the place cleaned up. Thank you for everyone's thoughts and offers of help.

Thanks for posting the updates. I’m so glad the fire crews are staying around to protect Yokoji. Stay safe.

Thank you for the updates in the midst of all this, Yugen. Words cannot express how moved I am that Zen Mt. Center is spared. May the animals and plants find refuge somehow. Let me know what is needed most.

    Love to you all.
