As we move towards the end of our summer interim period, we are now preparing for our fall training period. This will begin with our 7-day Sesshin beginning on Sunday 8th September. The sesshin is filling up now so if anyone was planning on attending, it would be best to get your applications in as soon as possible. As soon as our Fall Training period begins, our guest groups will increase and that is always something we welcome at Yokoji. Our guest groups and visitors continue to support our practice and as many of them are regular visitors, it is like welcoming back old friends.
The days continue to be hot and sunny in the canyon but we are frequently blessed with mountain breezes and cool mornings and evenings. Our wildlife continues to entertain and enliven us with the usual rattlesnakes, deer families , and of course our resident ravens. In addition, the footprints of a mountain lion have been seen around the access road, a welcome sign that our habitat has returned to normal after the disruptions caused by the fires and floods of recent history.
A huge thank you must also be extended to all of you who donated so generously to our Spring Fundraiser. Your kindness and generosity helps immeasurably with the upkeep of Yokoji and we really could not do it without you. A deep thank you from all of us here.
Soon we will be treated to the emerging colors of fall and our environment will change again. The Fall temperatures are usually welcomed by all of us after a hot summer and we are looking forward to getting our fall training period underway and welcoming back our members for sesshin and other events. If you would like to book one of these events, all the details are on the website. We hope to see as many of you as possible soon.
