Weathered the Storm
March 02, 2014 by Yugen Lakey
The storm has now spent itself—there are still clouds lingering and the occasional spell of light rain, but the worst has definitely passed. The grounds this morning were no more damaged than they were yesterday. The residents and volunteers met this morning and have started work to prepare for the sesshin. The road is being patched up and should be passable for all vehicles by tomorrow; the rooms are being made up; the removable bridges put back in place. In short, we should be up and running tomorrow ready to receive all the sesshin participants who are coming in.
Since we were unable to do the training period entrance this morning, it will take place tomorrow night after dinner at 6pm, before the start of the sesshin. It is a shame we aren't able to do it today, as usual, with the whole community, but the most important thing is that even after severe weather, we have only been set back by one day and the training period will go ahead as planned.
